My Career Journey from 10th Grade to Software Developer at Mastek

10th Class Decision:

Chose PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in 11th and 12th class.

12th Class:

Attempted JEE exam but did not clear it.

Decided to pursue a degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Sagar Institute of Research and Technology College, Bhopal.

First Year of College:

Faced the COVID-19 pandemic.

Started learning C++ programming language through YouTube.

Focused extensively on mastering C++ as it was the first programming language learned.

Second Year of College:

Began learning web development.

Learned the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) stack throughout the year.

Realized the importance of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).

Started learning DSA concepts.

Third Year of College:

Continued learning and practicing DSA.

Engaged in competitive programming on CodeChef, becoming a 3-star coder.

Solved over 500 coding problems on GeeksforGeeks (GFG) and 300+ on LeetCode.

Fourth Year of College:

Interview Experience:

First Round:

  • Nervous initially but supported by a friend named Punnu.
  • Asked to talk about something not mentioned in the resume.
  • Explained flutter-related projects.
  • Asked about and explained the doubly linked list, including writing and explaining the code.

Second Round:

  • Again asked about the doubly linked list, wrote the code, and explained it along with its time and space complexity.
  • Discussed tree data structures, BFS, and DFS.

Final Round:

  • Technical subjects covered included Operating Systems (OS), Database Management Systems (DBMS), and SQL.
  • HR questions such as “Tell me about yourself” and “Why do you want to join our company?” were asked.

Achievement:

  • Secured a job as an Application Developer at Mastek organization.—————-

Ongoing Preparation:

  • Continuously improving skills in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
  • Enhancing problem-solving abilities by solving more coding problems on platforms like GeeksforGeeks and LeetCode.
  • Practicing competitive programming to further improve coding skills.
  • Keeping updated with the latest technologies and industry trends relevant to roles at Amazon.
