Microsoft Fix-a-thon is eligible for final-year students for the hiring of support engineers. My resume got shortlisted for Microsoft Fix-a-thon and was conveyed a mail about the further rounds. Different Stages:1. Registration 2. Group Discussion 3. Tech Sessions 4. Hackathon Phase 1 – Break Fix Challenge 5. Hackathon Phase 2 – 48 Hrs Hackathon 6. Semi-final & Finals Rounds The next day a kickoff call was scheduled and more insights about the program were shared. A Group Discussion was scheduled the next day. Group Discussion:There were almost 15 students on the call. The topic for discussion was whether India could go completely cashless. It went on for almost 30 minutes. Since this was in online mode, there were clashes with people speaking. At the end, the mentor asked each of us to give a conclusion. Tech Sessions:After the weekend, for the next 3 days, we had three tech sessions on Windows, azure, and networking. Pre-work/ study materials were also provided on the same topics like the architecture of Windows, virtual and physical memory, Cloud computing, services, and Azure networking documentation. After each session, a coach connect used to happen in smaller groups to resolve any doubts. Hackathon Phase 1: Break-fix-challengeThere were team of 6-7 people formed. We were given a challenge to debug why the instance is not able to connect to the internet. Soon 60 mins passed by and my team was not able to fix the issue. The mentor in the call asked some follow up questions on our approach to each member and the call was ended. Post this we were given a google form link which contained basic azure and networking fundamental questions. Well , I didn’t received any mail post this for the next rounds. Hence I was rejected in the Phase 1 Hackathon. |
