Hello everyone!

I have participated in ICPC Ago Queen 2023 the Girl Programming Cup! So, I just wanted to share my little experience. There were actually three rounds in this challenge.

Round 1 – Normal Coding Challenge:

There are a range of coding challenges from easy to hard. This round boosted my confidence for the next round. After completing Round 1, online classes were provided to help all participants to improve their problem-solving skills and they also conducted some online classes before the round, maybe I missed some of the classes as I was preparing for semester exams.

Round 2 – Quantum Challenge:

This round mainly focused on quantum computing challenges. Even those who didn’t take part in Round 1 also participated in Round 2. Online classes were conducted to guide all of us on how to solve quantum problems. This round decreased my confidence even though I solved 2 problems. However, I was selected for the final round.

Final Round:

Participants were selected based on certain criteria like the number of submissions made in their previous modes. They made this round made available in two modes: offline and online. I chose the online mode. For offline mode, participants received tickets and accommodation along with one supportive person (e.g., a parent). I think some concerts were also held. The final round also comprises a series of coding challenges ranging from easy to hard. This was a little bit hard. I just solved only two of them and some test cases were correct.

Conclusion

The event was a great experience for me, despite facing tough competition. I worked hard to give my best even though there were many talented programmers. Due to my semester exams, I took the online exam instead of attending in person. And for my participation in the quantum round for successful submissions I have received a certificate. Overall, it was a memorable experience for me, and I recommend others, including myself, to be a part of ICPC Algo Queen Girls in the future.
