How Does Subnetting Support Scalability in Network Infrastructure?

Answer: Subnetting supports scalability in network infrastructure by providing the logical IP address allocation, improving network performance, increasing security, providing flexibility to add more devices and managing large networks.

Scalability is supported by subnetting in different ways by improving many parameters like network performance, security, flexibility. Subnetting also provides the efficient IP allocation, easy insertion of new devices and managing large network. The larger networks are distributed into smaller networks using subnetting hence decreasing the IP address wastage and allocating required number of IPs to subnet. The subnetting reduces the broadcast traffic resulting in less congestions and improving speed. It is easier to add more new devices and manage large network if subnetting is done which increases the performance, security and speed of the network. In this way subnetting supports scalability in network infrastructure.

Conclusion

So, we can conclude that the subnetting provides effective IP address allocations, improves network speed and performance, provides flexibility to add new systems, helps in efficiently managing the large networks and providing high security which supports the scalability in network infrastructure.
