My experience with exploring career options in class 10th

Hello Geek, I have completed my 10th class at Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School in Uttarakhand. In this article, I’ll help you figure out how you can start thinking about career options in class 10th by sharing my experiences from my 10th class.

In my 10th class, I have Science, Mathematics, Social Science, English, Hindi, and Computer Science as subjects. I was interested in all of them. So, I was a bit confused about what to choose after my 10th class. My teachers suggested me that early career planning is beneficial as it will allow me to explore and research various career options. Their suggestion motivates me to start thinking about career options in the 10th class more seriously.

Research played a crucial role in my process of exploring career options. I use the internet to search various fields and career options that I could pursue in the future. I also took advice from my parents and elders from my family. They encouraged me towards science. My mother encouraged me towards the medical stream and to take PCB after 10th. But my father suggested I to take PCMB after the 10th class. But I feel that I will not be able to handle both subjects. So, I was in big confusion. In my 10th class, I decided to explore various hobbies and activities to learn more about my interests. I learned about web development in class 10th which I found very interesting. This encouraged me to explore more about programming.

Through introspection and research, I gradually gained clarity about my career aspirations. I realized that my passion for science and technology pointed me toward a career in engineering. So, I took PCM after I completed my class 10th. Today I am pursuing engineering in computer science which aligns with my interests.

It’s my suggestion to all the students in 10th grade to understand their interests during this stage to make the right career choice.
