Why Star Topology Not Suitable for a Large Network?

Answer: Star topology is not suitable for a large network because all the systems in star topology are connected with a central switch or server. If the central switch fails, the whole large network will fail. So, star topology is not used for large networks.

Star Topology

In a star topology the computers are connected with a central server or switch. All the transmission of data is done by sending the data to central server and the server then transmits the data to its desired destination computer.

So, the central server plays the most important role in star topology and the failure of this switch or server fails the whole network. Hence, star topology is not used for large networks.
