Organism consists of similar body structure. The DNA molecules that are found in the chromosome in the nucleus of the cell are responsible for the transfer of characters from the parents to the offspring. During the process the sexual reproduction these cells produce two copies of DNA which further separate into two cells. These two DNA copies will not be identical to each other but they consist of some similarities. Therefore these two organisms will have some variation from their parents. Table of ContentHow can Organisms Reproduce?Organisms can reproduce in the two following ways:
Asexual ReproductionAsexual reproduction is a type of reproduction where a new offspring is being produced from single parents. It doesn’t perform any fertilization or fusion of gametes. This type of reproduction can be seen in unicellular organisms like amoeba, worms, and hydra. No or less variety of offspring are being produced as in asexual reproduction only one parent is involved. Some of the ways in which asexual reproduction takes place are- Fragmentation, budding, and fission. Sexual ReproductionSexual reproduction refers to a reproduction in which a new offspring is being produced from the combination of two different individual of different sexes. In this type of reproduction two parents are involved by the fusion of male and female gametes. It performs fusion of gametes. It can be seen in multicellular organisms like humans, animals and so on. Variety of offspring are formed due to involvement of two parents. Do Organisms Create Exact Copies Of Themselves?Organisms create exact copies of themselves therefore organisms create a clone similar to themselves. In asexual reproduction the variation are restricted whereas in sexual reproduction variation occurs. Cell is known as a basic unit of life which consists of a nucleus. This nucleus carries the genetic information for the future generation within the DNA. A duplicate of DNA is formed when a cell starts to divide. From the first DNA the replica will be separated. Therefore we know that DNA cannot create an organisms by itself the cell will also gets divided into two which results in getting a cell with new DNA. These two cells are not identical but they can similar with physiological behaviour. Hence organisms creates a clone which not identical but consists of similar body designs. Importance of VariationDue to the change in the body size and DNA it is difficult for the species to survive in certain environment conditions. In these climatic or environmental changes the variation in organisms help them to adapt to different environment such as temperature, food resource and climate conditions. Therefore variation is important in organisms to be resistant to multiple diseases which helps these organisms to survive in such conditions. FAQs on How do Organisms Reproduce1.
