I had interview with Hitachi energy for software developer position, for their market management system software around September 2022. I want to share my experience with all of you.

In total there was 4 round for me it could be 3 to 4 round depending upon your and interviewers availability.

Round 1 Technical (India round):

It was technical round and Hitachi energy India team took the interview, interviewers asked questions both related to coding and power system.

Power system questions were related to load flow/optimal load flow, unit commitment, state estimation, energy market related questions. They have given a question related to unit commitment and asked me to solve on paper and I solved it.

Coding questions were related to pointers, dynamic memory allocation in C/C++, strings, arrays, use of references, mostly application based like what are the needs and advantages of dynamic memory or pointers like that be ready for the follow up questions to your answer.

Round 2 Technical (US round):

It was technical round and Hitachi energy US team took the interview, interviewers asked question related to coding and my previous experience as a software developer in GE, what work I did, what were the challenges and about my education background.

Round 3 Managerial(US round):

Mostly behavioral questions like why I want to leave my previous company, why joining Hitachi and what are my strengths and weaknesses, what I like the most in my previous company(GE).

Round 4 HR round(India):

Only one question tell me about yourself, and then CTC negotiation, and I accepted the offer after a bit of negotiation.

The interviewers were friendly and created a comfortable atmosphere for open and honest conversation. It was a nice experience.
