Hi all, I have recently graduated from college (’24 CSE).

Brief description of college:

Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology established in 1941, three departments are here CSE, IT, CT. This college is famous for ceramic technology. There have two large play ground where students, both boys and girls playing together (cricket, football, badminton etc, there have a girls common room and a boys hostel. you could say that this campus is the paradise for students.

First Yr. to final Yr. Journey:

i’m lateral entry student,so my experience about first year is nothing.Directly i entered in 2nd year so you can say this is my first year. Actually my admission time held during the covid pandemic situation. Then 2nd year completed from home. From 3rd year college started in offline mode. I’m a day scholar, so i present in almost every classes. There an intersting incident happens in the transition time( online education mode to offline education mode) in 3rd year, 3rd sem some days of classes are held in online mode, so student wants to give exam in online mode but college authorities want to conduct the exam in offline mode. So, there was a clash between students and college authorities. As expected college autorities released the exam date. Finally exam date came, i’m ready for giving exam. When i went to college for giving first day of exam then i saw students protesting for not giving exam in offline mode. Then a meeting arranged between principle and the General Secretary (GS), and outcome is exam will happen on offline mode but exam date was changed. After that all exams were held in offline mode.

Environment

This college environment is overall good. Teachers are very helpfull. college library is too good, here you get all books for study and you can take 4 books using your library card, now this card is digitalized. Labs are well organized and maintained. But exam time teacher’s are very strict and all exams monitored from exam controller room, so those who think about cheating step back. Some teacher’s are strict but they are like coconut hard from outside soft inside.

College Fests

Here college fest is very popular and many celebrities are came to perform at events, sadly i could’t participate in any fest due to travelling issue. So, i can’t describe about the college fest.

About the Placements

Here is 3 main stream CT, CSE, IT

CT–> this college is popular for ceramic technology, CT placement is arround 100% every year, even they start internships from 5-6th semester.

CSE & IT–> this two branch are same and almost placement companies recrute both stream students, in this college during my passout year 2024 placement condition is poor, due to recesion overall 5-6 companies came in this college.

Now I’m doing intership at NIC, Viduyt Bhaban kolkata. So, this is my campus experience.
