Introduction:

I was in Pune for the JEE Advanced preparation at VidyaSarita Academy . As JEE Mains concluded, I shifted my focus to the Advanced pattern questions. My days were filled with MCQs, integer-type questions, and the patterns that the Advanced exam demanded. I prepared for advance with same books which i used for mains . Cengage for Math , DC Pandey for Physics , Teacher Notes and NCERT for Chemistry .

Daily Routine:

After completing JEE Mains, I started focusing on Advanced pattern questions. I tackled MCQs, integer-type questions, and all the diverse patterns asked in the Advanced exam. Daily, I revised my inorganic short notes. During the day, I solved physics and physical chemistry questions, followed by organic chemistry in the evening. Post-dinner, I dedicated time to mathematics. Despite knowing my preparation wasn’t enough for a top rank, I stuck to this routine. Multiple mock tests helped me improve gradually.

The Exam Day: Paper 1

Ready with necessary documents, I entered the crowded exam center. Paper 1 began, and I jumped into the physics section, solving as much as I could. The chemistry and math sections posed challenges, and I managed only a few of questions. After Paper 1, my friends and I took a break, sharing food and resting in a friend’s father’s car.

Paper 2:

In Paper 2, I gave it my all. My cumulative score across subjects needed to cross a critical threshold. I somehow solved a bunch of questions so that i would have some bare minimum score . Leaving the exam center, I awaited the answer key. The difficult paper had left me anxious yet hopeful.

The Result day:

When the results were announced, I was shocked. I had passed, but my rank fell short of securing a good IIT seat with a decent branch as I was having a low rank. The low participation in this year’s Advanced exam added to the disappointment.

Missed Opportunity:

Although I missed out, I recognize the value of this experience. JEE Advanced remains a defining moment in my academic journey.

After JOSSA counselling I got admitted in NIT Bhopal. Hard work paid off !
