JNTU-GV Campus Experience

I am currently studying B.Tech fourth year at JNTU-GV University from Andhra Pradesh. I came here through the EAPCET exam in the year 2021. I will graduate in May 2025. Over these three years of experience, I have learned a lot from the faculty and my friends. First, I learned how to travel from one place to another without help from my parents. I went to my college after my first counseling session. At that time, only a few students along with me had joined in the college. The college faculty, one by one, used to attend our classes and explain the structure of the college. Within 15 days, most students joined the college and attended classes.

In January 2022, they told us to stay home due to the increase in coronavirus cases in India. Until the first week of February, our faculty conducted online classes and then said that college would reopen in the second week of February and then the 1-1 Semester exams would start.

Our 1-1 Semester first mid started on February 14th and we all wrote well, followed by internals and finally the Semester exams. The lab Exams experience is on another level. Moreover, roll number 1 experience is on another level. They should face the viva; their paper will be collected first in examinations and whatnot! everything they should face first. Now I must say something…my roll number is one… (lol)…

I don’t know what happened with our college administration. Initially, they used to conduct External lab exams and then followed by Semester exams. But when we reached 1-2 semesters, they changed the schedule. First, we wrote the semester exams and then followed by the lab exams. In between these two, we faced a problem regarding our girls’ hostel mess food, the food was contaminated and several students in the hostel fell ill, 5 to 10 members were admitted to the hospital, and in the hostel, there was no proper water supply, no proper electricity. Finally, our college management sent us to our respective homes and addressed the failures in hostel management. This was one of the worst experiences in our campus journey.

Things do not always go normally. At the end of 2-2 semester, my father had an accident and a bone in his leg was fractured. According to our college semester timetable, after the 2-2 semester we had to attend a one-month internship program i.e., the Community Service Project, where we had to go to nearby Government schools to teach students about current and future technologies. That total of one month is a fruitful chapter for me. I learned how to interact with new people, my stage fear was completely gone.

During our 3-1 semester, we conducted a strike to demand our basic needs in our college, like college gate outing timings, etc… Here I learned leadership qualities and how to raise my voice for the truth. Additionally, during this semester we also conducted a national-level technical symposium festival at our college for two days where students from various colleges under our university came and participated actively. We enjoyed it a lot!!!

After the completion of the 3-2 semester, we had another two-month internship which we are doing now. In fourth year, I am going to appear for GATE 2025.
