First ImpressionAs an Engineering Student, At First, There was too much Excitement and Fear Together. The college has a strict dress code during its hours of 9:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m, except Fridays. At first, I thought the dress code was lame, but eventually, I realized that it helps everyone act professionally and brings people together. A fine of 50 rupees is levied on someone who does not follow the dress code at the main gate. It may seem a little harsh, but above all it teaches responsibility and the importance of being prepared. One morning, I saw a student who came to college without shoes. The PT Sir took his ID card and instructed him to go to the main gate, where he was fined 50 Rs. After paying, he received his ID card. Following rules is an important lesson I learned. It not only disrupts our day but also promotes discipline. After entering the college campus, we cannot leave the gate until 4:30 pm (i.e. the end of college time), unless HOD permits us. Preventing distractions from disrupting our studies and other activities can be done. There was a day when I had to leave early urgently due to my family emergency and the permission of HOD that day made me realized how important planning is, communication reaches us. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the college premises, and they took them when they see them. This rule may seem strict, but it has helped us stay focus on our classes and prevent distractions. For example, my friends will go struggle initially without their phones and then learn to appreciate how much more productive they are as well as getting to socialize with other people. Even with the strict rules, this college has its advantages. Great, large, and secure parking area, which was perfect for our students and faculty. The canteen is well-received by students and is rated 4 out of 5. On Every Wednesday, they serve biryani, and it’s very popular. I remember the smell and flavor of my first time it is totally worthy. Academic JourneyThe most wonderful journey I have ever gone through, Studying Computer Science and Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at DIET. Our college does hackathons every year, so it provides an opportunity to use the skills in real competitive and cutting-edge environments. I remember participating in a hackathon organized by Bell. We collaborated with friends to create and simulate a proof of concept for an intelligent traffic control system. The college has been organizing several workshops which are in collaboration with companies like Dronix and Infosys Spring Board which brings abridges for classroom learning to real-world applications. Engaged in practical workshops which helped us understand the nature of the industry. Summer internships are offered by the college to students who are enthusiastic about learning and improving their skills. Last summer, I interned at a tech company. I was part of the program that involved working with the Technical Services department, developing projects in AI with teamwork. Faculties here help us out in publishing our own research paper and contribute to open-source via GitHub. Thanks to their motivation, I was able to publish my very first research paper on machine learning algorithms. My college has a pretty good culture of participating in Google Summer of Code, and I was lucky enough to participate there during my ongoing graduation while working on impactful open-source projects. Campus FacilitiesAt DIET, I can say that it was a pleasant experience. There are also several facilities available on campus to ensure that students enjoy the comfort of an excellent student environment.
Cultural Events & TraditionsAt DIET, they held technical events and feasts throughout the year to allow students to participate in a myriad of activities other than academics where they can display their talent and engage in different sorts of extracurricular activities, which fosters among them a sense of belonging so much needed during those 4 years. With its strong insistence on academic values, innovation, and personal progression over the years, DIET has been aspiring to prepare students not only as engineers for tomorrow, but also to help them transform by widening their horizons. Courses & DepartmentsAt DIET offers a number of diploma, UG and PG courses in the field of engineering and computer science. ![]() DIET Stream wise courses PlacementsStudying at DIET is certainly a great experience, particularly when it comes to opportunities as in placements. Please find some insights about our placements below:
ConclusionIt has been great studying at DIET. The college is built on discipline and growth. I used to participate in Hackathons, workshops, open-source and research papers in AI & Machine Learning. It offers services for the top laboratories, a vast library, and exceptional hostels on campus. Ensuring balance through cultural events and sports. Placements are decent with top companies like TCS and Infosys recruiting most of the students. Strong academics and infrastructure are one of the best places to grow. |
