I am currently pursuing my Engineering in Deccan College of Engineering and Technology.

I am now in first-year 2nd semester and I passed my first semester with an SGPA of 9.43 When I first came to join the college after the clearance of my state engineering entrance exam I felt a little doubt that I had chosen the right college or not but never mind and I said to myself that my decision is right and I had completed 1 semester in college but I feel now that my decision is right.

First of all, I want to give a little introduction to the college.

Our “Alma-Mater” the Darussalam Educational Trust (DET) was founded in the year 1974 by the founder chairman Late Alhaj Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi Saheb, Ex-Member of Parliament, Hyderabad, based on his strong foundations and principles of truth, morality, knowledge, selfless services and self-sacrifice.

Today it has its spectra of institutions situated in and around Hyderabad Telangana.

The DCET is managed by Chairman Janab Asaduddin Owaisi Saheb, Member of Parliament, Hyderabad, Telangana, Managing Director Janaab Akbaruddin Owaisi Saheb Member of the legislative assembly, Govt of Telangana, and a group of Managing Trustees headed by Hazrat Moulana Syed Shah All Akbar Nizamuddin Hussaini Sabiri. The society runs a variety of institutions from kindergarten to Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Nursing, and Management. Placement Introduction

The Training and Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Undergraduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit the institute to conduct interviews.

We have been successful in maintaining our high placement statistics over the years and the fact that our students bear the recession blues with record breaking placements itself is a testimony to our quality. Our ingenious alumni have set new standards in the corporate world through their estimable contributions and it is my firm conviction that we will continue that legacy in the years to come.

The Training and Placement Cell organizes career guidance programs for all the students starting from first year. The cell arranges training programmes like Mock Interviews, Group Discussions, Communication Skills Workshop etc and it also organizes Public Sector Exam Training for students who are interested to join Government Sectors. It also invites HR Managers from different industries to conduct training programmes for final year students.

Objectives of Placement cell:

• Establishing a dedicated placement facility and forging Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with industries.

• Building and managing a comprehensive database of both companies and students.
